Hitler's Forgotten Secret Weapon - New Book out today
The last great untold story of World War II, the career of Hitler’s “Super Fighter” intended to destroy the RAF in the Battle of Britain and why it never succeeded.
The super-secret Heinkel He113 fighter was designed to be a high-speed, high-altitude fighter that could outperform, outgun and outfight any other aircraft in the world when it entered service with the Luftwaffe in 1940. Hitler’s airforce commander, Hermann Goring declared that the Spitfire was “so much scrap metal”. As the Battle of Britain opened the RAF issued directives to pilots about the new Superjaegar, or Super Fighter, and squadrons of these aircraft were met in combat over the Channel.
Yet all was not what it seemed. There was a fatal flaw at the heart of the Superjaegar Projekt that meant that the aircraft would never achieve its potential and so would become Hitler’s forgotten secret weapon.
In this fascinating book the author traces the development of the He113 Wonder Fighter from the drawing board at Heinkel to the war torn skies over Britain in the fateful summer of 1940.

NEW BOOK- Grandma's Teddy Bear Club
Grandma’s Teddy Bear Club
A new book for grandparents looking after grandchildren
A new book aimed at helping grandparents entertain grandchildren has been produced by Barbara Hayes, a retired comic writer from the Amalgamated Press who worked on titles such as Look and Learn, Teddy Bear, Toybox and Bobo Bunny. The book has been released today by Bretwalda Books as a printed book and ebook.
The book contains stories to read out, games, pencil and paper activities and running about games to exhaust the little ones while the cunning grandparent sits comfortably on the sofa – all told by a master storyteller.
Characters in the book include Wake Up Early in the Morning Bear, Bossy Boots Bear, Nurse Bear, Kick the Bedclothes Off Bear and Scribbler Bear.
* Stories to read which are specially written to appeal to the young and very young age groups.
* Asides, questions and ideas to involve the child in the story — no passive listening here.
* Simple moving around activities to make a change from sitting reading.
* Simple crayon and paper fun aimed at all younger ages. If a child can hold a pencil - that is good enough to start joining in. And of course, older children will enjoy showing how skilled and clever they are.
Barbara Hayes says “I have made the stories and activities revolve around teddy bears and plain paper and crayons. This is because most households with children already have these things and no extra expense will be involved.
“Anyway that has told you something about the book. I hope you find it helpful — I do every Wednesday when I look after my youngest grandchild.”
The book is available from all good bookshops or from the publisher’s website www.BretwaldaBooks.com.

Watch the video HERE
A gripping account of the battles that gave the Royal Hampshire Regiment its proud battle honours.
Men from across Hampshire have for generations fought in the ranks of the Royal Hampshire Regiment, or its predecessors the North Hampshire Regiment and South Hampshire Regiment.
Among the great battles featured among the Battle Honours are: Blenheim, Minden, Barossa, Kabul, Paardeburg, The Somme, Passchendaele, Dunkirk, D-Day and Rhine Crossing. Each major battle will get a chapter to itself, more minor clashes will be dealt with within general campaign chapters.
Illustrated with photos and artworks this book provides a thrilling account of the history of the county regiment in stirring language that will appeal to a wide readership.
Author Rupert Matthews says “I was thrilled to write this book as Hampshire has one of the finest military traditions of any English county. The origins of the Royal Hampshire Regiment go back to 1702 and it has fought in every major war since then. The regiment won an amazing 160 Battle Honours, each time adding to the glory of the Hampshire name, but also sadly adding to the bloody bill that goes with military success.”

“How the Steam Railways Came to Surrey” New Book Released Today
A thrilling new book about the Steam Railways, written by Surrey author Rupert Matthews, has been released today by Bretwalda Books as a printed book and ebook together with a video on YouTube.
The book is a fascinating account of how the railways came to Surrey and the impact they had on the people who lived in the county
The book the great days of the steam railways in the county. It shows how and why the lines were built, giving an account of the people who laid the lines and built the stations. The text explains how the steam railway system worked: the signals, the turntables, up and down platforms, taking on water, the carriages and engines. Also looked at are the people who worked on the railway: the engine drivers, the firemen, the signalmen, the porters, the ticket inspectors, the maintenance men, the cleaners and so forth.
The book also deals with the ways in which the railway changed the people and landscapes of Surrey with excursions, population growth and changes, new industries and the decline of old trades. It is designed to appeal to a wide readership interested in the days of steam.
Author Rupert Matthews says “I was thrilled to write this book as it brought back so many memories of my childhood. I grew up in a house overlooking the Southampton mainline and can recal the days when our local station had a full time stationmaster who announced each train as it arrived, tended the flowerbeds and kept everything spick and spaon. In this book I explore how the railways came to Surrey, why they follow the routes they do and look at some of the key people involved in the history of our county railways.”

The true identity of St George is revealed in “On the Trail of the Real St George”
New Book Released Today
Dragon-slayer, English hero, martyr, warrior, soldier and saint — St George has been all these things. But who was the real St George? The truth is finally revealed in a thrilling new book about our national saint, written by English author Rupert Matthews, has been released today by Bretwalda Books as a printed book and ebook together with a video on YouTube.
Watch the video HERE
St George is one of the most instantly recognisable saints who has ever existed. His bold red cross on a white background waves from football terraces wherever England play, flutters from cars and flies proudly from English flagpoles everywhere. And yet surprisingly few people are aware of where he has come from, how he developed and what has made him what he is today.
In this book, the truth behind the legend is finally revealed. Was there really a dragon? How did St George get his red cross? Why is he England’s patron saint? Why do so many people think he was a bacon salesman?
Author Rupert Matthews says “As an Englishman I have long been fascinated by the obscure origins of our national saint. Nowhere could I find out much about him. Now, after much research delving into ancient folklore and little-known writings, I am confident that I have found the true origins of our national saint. And even I was surprised by what I found. I was thrilled to write this book as it has allowed me to unravel the historic mysteries surrounding St George. I have been able to disprove some of the misinformation spread about our national saint in recent years and to restore him to his rightful place.”

About the Book
The traditional ghosts of old England given a new twist for the 21st century by a master storyteller.
The British Isles are the most haunted places on Earth. Ghosts shimmer through stately homes and humble cottages alike. They linger at lonely crossroads and walk the ancient trackways. There are whole categories of spirits, visitors from other worlds as well as ghosts of the once living, but few people know much about them.
In case you should ever meet one it could be useful to know how to tell a Banshee from a Boggart, or understand why White Ladies appear. If you hear and see the Wild Hunt you can but hope it is not chasing you. Should you be afraid if you see a mighty Black Dog loping along an ancient trackway? And what about the mysterious Co-walkers or Doppelgangers?
Don't you think you should know about all these things? Better safe than sorry.
In the stories in this book Barbara portrays exactly how Boggarts, Banshees, Co-Walkers, the White Lady and the Old Hag behave.
