The Gloster Javelin at RAF Duxford
Gloster Javelins came to Duxford in September 1958 to replace 64 Squadron’s Meteor jets. Eventually they went on to become the RAF’s main night fighter during this stage of the Cold War and were in use by 14 squadrons. They were finally withdrawn from service in 1968.
